To celebrate the winners of the Second Home Innovation Immersion Programme London 2018, the creative workspace held a special reception during their weekly Members’ Drinks on June 1st. The programme, a joint venture between Second Home and the Lisbon City Council, allows entrepreneurs to gain access to Second Home London’s signature Cultural Programme, BeBetter Workshops, and Wellness Classes. Participants will be in the UK from June 11th until the 15th, during London Tech Week, a crowdsourced tech festival with over 55,000 attendees and over 300 events. The winners of the Innovation Programme will have the chance to mingle with techies from over 90 countries, including the founder of Wikipedia: Jimmy Wales.
In order to be selected to participate in the Innovation Programme, entrepreneurs have to be a part of a business that operates within the Lisbon area. Of a pool of around 50 applicants, 9 winners were chosen after careful consideration among the City Council and Second Home. The lucky winners are: Patricia Adrover, Christine Pausewang, Amir Bozorgzadeh, Marco Paulo, Rita Oliveira Pelica, Matheus Miranda, Bruno Mourão Martins, and Lara La Barbera.
Ms. Adrover is a co-founder of Flexpass, an online booking platform for fitness and wellness experiences in Portugal. Ms. Pausewang is a founder of Biocol Labs, an independent laboratory in Lisbon. Mr. Bozorgzadeh is the CEO and co-founder of Virtuleap, a tech company specializing in virtual and augmented reality environments. Mr. Paulo is a product designer for Inconspicuous, an automated design system monitoring tool. Ms. Oliveira Pelica is the CEO and founder of ONYOU, a professional development company. Mr. Miranda is the head of communication and marketing for Village Underground Lisboa, a co-working space and incubator in Lisbon. Mr. Mourão Martins is a director for the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the national director for professional development company Academy Cube. Ms. La Barbera works in product development for Tourist Israel, a tourism company that focuses specifically on the Middle Eastern country.
The participants will be able to take full advantage of Second Home’s London ecosystem – a full schedule awaits winners to help them make the most of the city’s vibrant cultural and entrepreneurial life. Their itinerary ranges from curated introductions to some of Second Home’s most promising entrepreneurs, meditation and yoga and attending plenty of Tech Week events.
