For the first time, Lisboa Unicorn Capital is taking startups from the city to international events. Applications for the program ‘From Lisboa to the World: Global Events Mission’ are open until February 8 (for Web Summit Qatar) and until February 28 (for the other events). Each selected startup will be entitled to tickets for team members, exhibitor presence, and networking opportunities at one or more of the following events:
- Qatar – Web Summit Qatar, Doha: February 26-29 of 2024
- Brazil – Web Summit Rio, Rio de Janeiro: April 15-18 of 2024
- Canada – Collision, Toronto: June 17-20 of 2024
Candidates can select one or more events to participate in. The program does not include local transport, meals, accommodation or flight tickets.
To participate, startups must be based in Lisbon and not have revenues or raised investments exceeding one million dollars for the ALPHA category, three million dollars for the BETA category, and should have more than five million dollars for the GROWTH program, taking into account that each category must be confirmed by the Web Summit team. They must also have an up-to-date profile on the Lisboa Unicorn Capital dashboard.
The selection criteria include the startup’s innovative capacity, the team’s motivation to participate, and the importance of the program for its development. Startups that are part of Lisboa’s innovation hubs will have priority in the selection process. In the case of a tiebreak, priority will be given to those that have never participated in Web Summit’s previous editions.
Applications can be made on this form until 23:59 on February 8 (for Web Summit Qatar), until February 24 (for Web Summit Rio) and April 25 (for Collision). After the initial validation, the candidates will also be evaluated by the Web Summit team.
